❤ FOTD (Face Of The Day) Featuring Make Up Revolution And Lime Crime! ❤
31 August 2014
I apologise wholeheartedly for the delay in new entries. I'm now officially a working woman. That's right, I have a 'real' paying job. So that has occupied most of time recently to say the least. It's a temporary position for now and it is definitely not what I wish to do for the rest of my life. But it pays and it enables me to feed my make up addiction. Which is real by the way ;)
Recently I made some purchases and amongst them were some Lime Crime lipsticks. I will feature these in a video soon on my channel https://t.co/yZwkhATw3b and I will of course review them right here so do keep an eye out for those in the near future!
Today's make up was specifically designed to complement one of the gorgeous lipsticks from Lime Crime that I purchased. I bought three shades and one of them was D'Lilac.
I had admired Lime Crime lipsticks from afar for quite some time and I was never able to purchase them in a store over here which put me off considerably. Anyone who knows me knows I don't enjoy buying make up online and usually refrain from doing so. However after viewing this brand so many times online I decided I just had to cave in and get some of these gorgeous lipsticks! I hope you enjoy the colour because let me tell you, I enjoy wearing this shade so much.
My eye make up regime always begins with eye primer. Eye primer is SO essential. It holds the make up in place and prevents smudging, smearing and creasing. Your eye make up will last much longer if you wear a primer underneath it, trust me. I used my favourite by Make Up Revolution. I reviewed this primer here: http://vegan-cupcake.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/make-up-revolution-stay-dont-stray-eye.html
To further enhance the vibrancy of my eye make up I chose my favourite adhesive base. NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. A milk white, a perfect blank canvas style base to use underneath coloured eyeshadows to make them really POP.
To subtly complement the bold Lime Crime lipstick I chose a soft lilac shade for my eyes. I shaded MAC's Beautiful Iris over my lids and into my crease.
I felt a striking bold eyeliner wing would contrast effectively against the lip colour to give my eyes more definition and power over the bold lip colour. I didn't want any of my features to look too 'competitive'. In other words I didn't want anything clashing too much. I shaped the wing over my upper and lower lash lines using my favourite black gel eyeliner by Collection.
I used Head Start from the Make Up Revolution Run Boy Run palette to smoke out my lower lash line and set the gel eyeliner. Head Start is a striking, heavily pigmented black shadow. Perfect for a smokey look!
To give my lashes drama I added multiple coats of Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara.
My base was Revlon's Colorstay Mineral Mousse foundation. A long lasting mousse formula combined with SPF. Perfect for the very sunny day we had today!
I set my base make up using Seventeen's Stay Time Pressed Powder. Truly my favourite powder. I LOVE this stuff. If you'd like a review please let me know in the comments!
Blush was an important step in this look. I needed to add colour and contour to my face but not in a shade that would overwhelm the whole look. I chose this Inglot Freedom System blush in the shade #38. This is a fuschia style pink with a purple hue that I felt would complement the theme of today's make up.
Finally to complete the look I added Lime Crime's D'Lilac to my lips. A gorgeous, daring pastel purple. Only for the brave ;)
The completed look!
