❤ FOTD (Face Of The Day) - Featuring ELF plus brand new Urban Decay and Rimmel products! ❤
25 September 2014
I apologise wholeheartedly for my absense. Since I acquired a new job my spare time has been significantly decreased.
I'm aiming to create a new schedule for myself so that I can fit in a new entry at least once a week. So do keep checking back for new posts!
Today's Face Of The Day is neutral winged eyeliner with bold red lips. I have recently become completely obsessed with wearing red lipstick. I think bold reds are particularly gorgeous. This one I received for free as part of the Back 2 MAC recycling program. (If you have 6 empty MAC containers you can exchange them for a free lipstick from their permanent line.
I always begin my make up application process with primer. My complexion has changed a little over time. Though I have predominantly dry skin I now find it becomes slightly more oily as the day goes on. So primer is very necessary for holding my eye make up firmly in place. It helps stop eye make up smudging, creasing and fading throughout wear time so it's definitely worth investing in a good one. I used my I ❤ Make Up eye primer by Make Up Revolution, blending the product over both lids and slightly past the crease.

Next to enhance the staying power and vibrancy of my eye make up further, I added a neutral coloured creme base. My NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk has been a longstanding favourite of mine for this purpose.
Recently I FINALLYcaved in and bought the Urban Decay NAKED 3 Palette. I own both the original NAKED palette alongside NAKED 2 and have been super curious about NAKED 3 since its release. I am just completely addicted to my NAKED palettes, they are all gorgeous in their own way. If you'd like a review of the NAKED 3 palette please comment and let me know! You never know, it might be coming up soon ;)
Today's lid shade was Strange. I lined my eyes using the Collection black gel liner, creating an elongated wing shape before blending Mugshot and Darkside (NAKED 3 palette) into the lower lashline for a smoked effect.
To frame the look I used multiple coats of my all time favourite mascara by Seventeen.
Since running out of my Revlon Mineral Mousse foundation I found myself searching for a new foundation. Definitely not an easy task! This is my second foundation purchase since I used up the Revlon one and I'll be reviewing that particular foundation soon so keep an eye out for it! Today's base was Rimmel's Lasting Finish foundation in the shade Ivory. I'll refrain from saying too much about this foundation just yet as I intend to review it in future but I do absolutely love it ;)
I set my base make up with my usual favourite pressed powder by Seventeen for a flawless finish.
Can we just talk about how addicted I am to this contour/blush palette by ELF? Because it's stunning! I used the blush side only to give colour and definition.
❤ TIP ❤ Applying powder blush secondary to setting powder enables a smoother finish. The powder will set your skin, thus preventing your blush from sticking to your base make up or any oiliness within your complexion. This is why I apply blush after powder most of the time.
I completed the look with this gorgeous red lipstick by MAC in the shade Ruby Woo. It's stunning and I LOVE it.
The completed look!
