I
highly recommend seeing your doctor or a professional dermatologist if
you have severe concerns about your skin. I am not a doctor, nor am I a
specialised dermatologist. Therefore please only proceed to read this
entry if you acknowledge and understand that this entry contains general
advice only and is absolutely not medical advice. I discuss my own
health conditions in this entry so that I am able to give an appropriate
overview of how this product worked for me. Please refrain from
offering me medical advice as I only take such advice from my doctor.
Thank you! As always, PATCH TEST natural products BEFORE USE just to be
on the safe side :)
Thank you MooGoo for the goodies! |
Breakouts can be influenced by a number of factors such as health conditions and environmental factors. Mine are quite mild and primarily influenced by Polcystic Ovary Syndrome.
With that in mind, I was eager to see how this product worked for me. As with all MooGoo products this contains no harsh ingredients so it's gentle for even sensitive skin. It contains no Benzoyl Peroxide Bleach (so kinder to the skin) and works to cleanse the skin which then prevents blemishes.
The product is encased in an adorable milk carton box (which I just can't get over!). You get 75 grams of product inside a pump bottle that allows the product to be deposited with less waste. This is also a much, more hygienic form of packaging. Did I mention how adorable the pictures of the cows on this packaging are?
The formula resembles a thick lotion and blends into the skin considerably well, leaving no greasy residue.
The plethora of skin-loving oils like Olive, Jojoba, Grapeseed and Apricot Kernel ensure your skin is left feeling hydrated, softened and nourished.
Green Tea Extract is infused to offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to protect the skin, soothe redness and reduce irritation.0
The list of vitamins in this moisturiser is almost endless (A, D, E and B5 to name just a few!) and it even has milk protein to improve skin elasticity.
Its cleanser title may have you believe you need to remove this after application but the opposite is the case. It acts like a combination cleanser and moisturiser so it should be massaged into the skin gently and left on once applied. Apply to the face and neck (preferably after washing since it is most compatible with moist skin) in the morning and night. I saw results after about a week of using this which is absolutely fantastic!
I was slightly wary of the possibility that this product might make my complexion oily but was considerably impressed when it didn't. I saw some dewiness on my forehead and cheeks but it was very minimal and there was no greasiness at all. My skin felt softer and I noticed an improvement in its elasticity too which was a pleasant surprise. It felt fuller and plumper, giving it a very healthy appearance.
Did it help my breakouts? It certainly did. I tend to breakout around my chin area (an area you break out in particularly when hormones are responsible!) I noticed my blemishes healed much faster than usual and my redness was calmed. This isn't going to prevent breakouts since it isn't entirely possible to stop them completely but it does a wonderful job of healing them and reducing the length of time they appear. If you have sensitive skin prone to breakouts then I highly recommend this cleanser.
My breakouts tend to be primarily underneath the skin so yes, you may have to look closely to see them in my 'before' photo but I promise there IS a breakout on my chin in the first photo. There's just a whole load of tiny bumps. In the second photo a week later you can see it has started to clear up well. The redness in my cheeks has been soothed too :) Spots will not clear up extremely quickly, so obviously they won't disappear in a week completely, but this made a very nice improvement to the condition of my skin :)
