Drugstore Make Up Haul (NYX, Make Up Revolution And More)

12 July 2016

This drugstore haul has a heavy mermaid-in-summer kinda vibe. All of these brands are cruelty free and/or vegan :)

NYX recently came to Boots in the UK and I was beyond delighted. NYX are cruelty free and PETA approved, plus their products are freaking awesome. I've actually been using their jumbo pencils for many years but it was always a hassle buying them as I had to get them online and pay extra postage which was so annoying! This was one of the reasons I avoided buying anything else from them until I got the chance to buy some of their products in person on my visit to the International Make Up Artist Trade Show in London one year. But that was over two years ago and the last time I bought anything from them until now.

I'd had my eye on their Prismatic eyeshadows for so long and was so bummed out I couldn't purchase any right away. I fawned over the shade Mermaid in particular. It's a stunning turquoise toned green with THE most gorgeous shimmery iridescent finish.

Online it looked so pretty and I wanted it so badly. And now, finally, the beautiful moment has happened. I have purchased Mermaid. I've worn it a few times and I'm in love. It is as pretty as I imagined. I'm alive again.

This next shade I bought looked darker on the tester than it turned out (I'm guessing there was some cross contamination of other darker shadows) which I was actually very happy about. This is Poolside, a brightly brilliant turquoise blue. Say that ten times fast.

The next item I wanted was a new foundation. My skin's been changing somewhat as I have got older and I'm currently on the hunt for my perfect base! I decided to give the Stay Matte But Not Flat one a go but later found out it had beeswax in it which I didn't notice on the ingredients at the time. I have heard NYX use synthetic beeswax but have so far not been able to contact them to get a response. I'm not extremely freaked out over beeswax but I do certainly prefer my make up to be free of it  (I don't eat honey by the way).

Same goes for this lipstick. I saw the Macaron collection and fell in love with this shade called Lavender. I live so hard for pastel colours. My only issue with this is the packaging design results in the product smudging slightly over the inside of the tube. I can get past that though because this colour is to die for.

I'd heard so much about the Lip Lingerie range that I HAD to get one. This is in Embellishment. The formula takes some getting used to but the colour is stunning!

My skin gets a bit oily due to my hormonal condition and my usual Stay Time powder by Seventeen wasn't available when I went shopping. I desperately needed a new powder as I use it a lot to keep my face make up in place so I opted for the Miracle Matte powder in Ivory Porcelain instead.

Make Up Revolution, if you know me, are one of my favourite brands. I saw this on their Instagram account and fell hard in love. I wasn't sure at first if it would be suitable but oh gods it's so gorgeous. This is their Vivid Baked Bronzer in Ready To Go.

That's it for my make up haul. What's your fave drugstore brand? Comment and let me know.

*Not sponsored. I bought everything with my own money :)
