Look through my make-up bag and you'll see a healthy selection of drugstore products. I don't believe you need to spend hundreds to achieve a full face of make-up that doesn't look like it came from the back streets of Ebay.
Considering the average high end foundation starts around £30 my total of £27.74 for a full face of make-up is LIT.
I knew I'd have to sacrifice those little extras I use to stay within my budget. Goodbye for now primers, setting powders/sprays and contour products. How was I going to work around this? Could I find make-up that would look good and stay put without going insanely over budget?
Make Up Revolution's affordability and awesome quality eyeshadows came to your girl's rescue. They recently released palettes in their Obsession line for £5 each. I admit I'd been intending to buy this palette for a short time before deciding to do this challenge. Because ooh those shades...
An abundance of fiery bronzes, gold and burgundies in matte, shimmer and smooth pressed glitter finishes. Fierce, baby.
Eyeliner and mascara to go.
With its cute star stamp (that I had full intentions of using for this look but by the time I'd completed it I felt it didn't need any 'extras'), Lottie London's duo liner was the one.
Felt liner's great but I love some smokey, smudgy eyeliner drama. Thank you Make Up Academy for your £1 eyeliners.
I like a mascara the way I like my men. Lots of length and volume. At a price point of just £2.30 would the Essence Volume Boost come through?
Very buildable, easy to apply. Do I prefer false lashes to mascara? Yes. But this was pretty good for the price.
A 6-in-1 foundation that primes, conceals, covers, smoothes, protects (SPF 20!) and mattifies. Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation makes my base dreams come true at a reasonable £5.99.
Make Up Revolution's Fast Base concealer brightening my complexion for £5 over here. I could give my cheek bones a natural highlight with this too.
OH.
How am I going to contour without contouring products??
'Crave' from my Warm Up palette stepped up and made the perfect contour shade. Blended in beautifully for that 'looking like a sculpted goddess but actually a potato underneath this contour' look. I combined it with 'Twist' to fill in my brows. Because my brows need Jesus and this is the closest I could get, okay.
This matte finish lipstick called Chauffeur from Make Up Revolution's Rose Gold lipstick line made it as my lip colour. I fawn over its muted mauve-brown tones and at £3 it fits the budget.
Use Make Up Revolution Fast Base Concealer to prime the lids.
Create a transition along the crease with 'Crave' (outer) and 'Jump' (inner), then fill the centre of the lids with 'Prize'. Contour the outer crease using 'Twist' and 'Power'. Twist alone is a matte deep burgundy brown which will look a little too flat on its own so mix with 'Power' for a little punch and warmth.
Once eyeliner's applied, smoke the two along the lower lash line underneath the eyeliner for extra smokey dimension. Then build up your lashes with mascara.
Fall Goddess, yessssss.
