Superdrug Beauty Products Haul

12 September 2013

Hello!

I do apologise for not being around for a few days, I have been quite busy with college and life in general. Even on my days off I am usually running errands and don't get a lot of free time. But today I'm here with a make up haul. I purchased these items within the past week or two at my local Superdrug.

The first item I looked for was a cheap lip balm. I go through lip balms like crazy, I use them on a daily basis because I suffer with terrible dry lips and they get so uncomfortable without one. I'd just run out of the Nivea Pure And Natural Honey lip balm so I was hoping to find another good Nivea lip balm to try.

I know some say over-use of these can cause your lips to become ' too reliant' upon lip balms, but trust me, going without one does my lips no favours. I have stopped wearing lip balm both completely and not as much. Either way  made no difference whatsoever. Wearing a lip balm has always helped the condition of my lips and I feel much more comfortable using one.

I needed a cheap one for my bag to carry with me daily and this one caught my eye. I dislike spending too much on lip balms because I use them so much. Not only was only £1 (on sale) but it has great moisturising properties which is exactly what I need in a lip balm. I have used it a few times and it's actually a very nice lip balm! It has a pleasant mild sweet scent and it moisturises really well.

I had been eyeing this next product up for some time. I'd swatched it multiple times in store and was very curious to try it out. I'd seen it used in Rimmel's advertisements and I thought it looked stunning. It is the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eye Shadow Paint in Mercury Silver. I have never been a huge fan of eye shadow paints/creme products because they tend to be very patchy and difficult to blend (regardless of what tools I've used). I had high hopes for this product but unfortunately so far I've found this one is patchy too. I am hoping to try it different ways and find a way that works well. I will post a review of this product in future and let you know how it works out! I do hope I find a way to use it as it's such a gorgeous colour!

Next I stopped by the MUA (Make Up Academy) section and picked up another of their eyeliners. I already own a few of these, they are SO pigmented and creamy! I love them so bad. I needed a dark brown eyeliner so decided to pick up Rich Brown. It's a perfect gorgeous brown shade with plenty of depth.

Lastly I scoured through the hair products. I needed a travel sized hairspray as I'm going to London MCM Expo/Comic Con at the end of next month (I know, I know, it's a little way off yet but I like to shop early for products because sometimes I can get good deals on them!) and I love to build volume in my hair with a good hairspray. I dislike taking full sized products because it makes my luggage so heavy, plus I don't need an entire full sized product for the nights I stay away for Expo/Comic Con. So travel sized items are a must for me!

I have seen this hair spray used EVERYWHERE and have been curious about it for so long. It's the Samy Fat Hair hair spray. According to the product description this gives extra volume, hold and shine. Sounds great. I have very thick hair naturally so I often don't bother creating volume in my hair but sometimes I just really like to create extra volume on top of the natural volume I have in my hair. I especially like to do this when I go away to Comic Con because that is my 'holiday time' and I like to go 'all out' with my make up, outfits and hair when I'm on my 'holiday time' :)

I am definitely going to have a future review on this hair spray. If you'd like to know more details about my posts please follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/pinksparklestar. I post regular updates there.

This travel sized can was on sale at Superdrug when I bought it (with my student card it only cost me £1 and change, it's originally worth £2.50 for a travel size can. The full size is £6!)

I can't wait to use these things more and then get back to you with my thoughts on some of them! Look out for future reviews as always!

Hope you enjoyed my haul!
