Today's make up involves a look I have not created in a long time. I wear black eyeliner on a regular basis but it has been quite some time since I have worn thick winged eyeliner. The main reason for this is is just rarely feels very comfortable in the summer heat.
However today was not extremely hot outside so I decided to just go for it ;)
My look today is thick black winged eyeliner against a silver/brown hybrid defining the lid and crease.
I began with an eye primer. Eye primer is highly essential to my make up routine and a staple within my make up bag. It holds eye make up firmly in place, preventing smudging, fading and creasing. To give my eye make up extra vibrancy I applied a cream base using my favourite jumbo pencil in Milk by NYX. I also lined the outer portion of my lower waterline with NYX jumbo pencil in Peacock for a hint of colour. I lined the rest of the waterline and lower lash line (as a base for shadow) using Milk to create a super wide eyed look.
I began by using a wonderful gun metal shade called World Is Not Meant For You from the Make Up Revolution Salvation Run Boy Run Palette over the lid for a smoked out look. I blended Another Day and It's Time To Run in the crease and along the lower lash line. I then layered World Is Not Meant For You over the lower lash line colours to finish. I created the thick eyeliner wings over the upper lash line (and outward) with Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner. I am IN LOVE with this eyeliner and have used it for years now. It's super long lasting, super pigmented, smooth, easy to apply and just awesome!
For lashes with super volume and definition I layered the fantastic Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara through my lashes. (I will be reviewing this mascara soon!)
My base today combined a matte finish with SPF 20. I set my base make up with Seventeen's Stay Time Powder.
I filled my eyebrows using the Chocolate brown shade in my Wet N Wild Duo (now discontinued).
I contoured my cheek bones using a contour shade from the Make Up Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour Palette in Sugar and Spice. Further to this I added colour to my cheeks with the pink toned blush next to the contour shade I used previously. Check out my review of this palette here: http://sparklyshellcosmetics.blogspot.com/2014/07/make-up-revolution-ultra-blush-and.html
To finish I blended two lip colours. A baby pink and a mauve shade for a perfect nude pink lip.
The completed look!
