This year my birthday was a special milestone for me. I turned 30. Yes 30. Don't worry if you don't believe me, most people don't. I look younger than my actual age which is something I embrace wholeheartedly since it suits my rather youthful personality ;)
I digress. Yesterday was just lovely. I am incredibly grateful for my wonderful friends and family. I'm grateful I even get to be in the position where I can share the events of my lovely day with everyone.
My birthday began with my wonderful mother singing happy birthday to me as she does. Then I ran various errands most of the day before taking a wonderful bubble bath and then getting ready for my night out.
My outfit included this dress from Quiz. It is a bandeau style dress but it also comes with straps in the same fabric as the dress. I opted to wear the dress with the straps since I have a good set of 'girls' (lol) and often find bandeau tops and dresses fall down on me a lot. I didn't want to be hoisting the dress up all night either. I matched the floral print with black heels from Peacocks. They look scary but they are quite sturdy to walk in (I'm the type of person who falls over in flat shoes so there isn't any helping me most of the time!) and very comfortable. And to keep warm during the cooler part of the night I wore a fitted shrug by Jane Norman. My adorable 50s style bag is from Floozie by French Frost.
I went to Frankie and Bennys for my birthday meal. I want to extend a huge thanks to the staff who were extremely attentive, kind and gave us fantastic service throughout the entire night. I myself have worked as a waitress/barmaid so I understand the hard work and effort that goes into serving customers.
When we arrived my generous and sweet friends gave me some lovely birthday presents. Then we placed our orders because we were all completely starving.
The food and drink was all delicious. The restaurant gave me their traditional birthday song along with my yummy cake and I even got a personal serenade from the waitor serving us! It was fantastic.
Thank you to my lovely friends for coming along and celebrating with me!
