Recently I was in Cardiff and stopped by an unfamiliar place for breakfast. Crumbs Kitchen, a quaint vegetarian and vegan restaurant comfortably situated in Morgan Arcade.
Having never visited before, I felt immediately welcomed by the warm, cosy feel of the restaurant. I appreciate a warm environment as being cold often leaves me feeling unable to enjoy my food. Even from the outside the building carries a welcoming aura.
I personally believe hygiene is key when it comes to eating out and nothing turns me off more than messy dining areas. The high standard of cleanliness therefore allowed me to feel much more relaxed and happy. The attention to detail in the attractive decor made for a bright, pleasant atmosphere.
One thing to mention is that I am not a vegetarian. I would love to be but unfortunately many factors involving my health mean I'm not able to give meat up entirely. However the wide selection of vegetarian and vegan food on the menu means that even those of us who eat meat can still find something delicious to enjoy.
And when it comes to breakfast I actually don't indulge in meat most of the time. I tend to prefer vegetarian breakfasts overall. On this occasion I ordered scrambled eggs on toast.
I could say the food was tasty but that would honestly be an understatement. It was divine. The toast was hot, the eggs were flavoursome and cooked to absolute perfection. I have never tasted such wonderful scrambled egg on toast in my life as this and I promise I am not exaggerating.
To accompany my food I chose a fresh valencia orange juice (freshly made!) and a de-caff tea. The very fact that de-caff tea was on the menu thrilled me. I'm not able to consume caffeine so that option was highly appreciated. Both were super delicious.
I will absolutely be re-visiting this lovely restaurant again in future and can't wait to sample more of their menu!
