Review: Dusty Girls Tinted Earth Cream

11 August 2015

Searching for a tinted moisturising cream with an assortment of naturally protective, skin feeding ingredients? Look no further...

The Tinted Earth Cream is a multi purpose product with a natural, silicone-free formula that applies and performs like a medium coverage tinted moisturiser with a silky soft lightweight feel. It has natural sun protection but the SPF factor is a little low so those concerned about sun protection will require a separate higher factor SPF worn underneath for extra protection.

Skin healing properties derived in the Nigella Sativa Oil and Manuka Tree Leaf Oil mean it's suitable for acne prone skin and won't clog pores or cause breakouts. The dose of vitamin E and Shea Butter protect, hydrate and soften the skin. Of course, patch test natural products before use to ensure no reactions occur. There is a very slight fresh, natural scent (natural ingredients mean no fake 'chemical scent' after all) to this product that disappears upon application.

The best finish and coverage can be achieved by using your fingers or a beauty blender sponge as your application methods. The consistency lands between a foundation and tinted moisturiser. Most ideal for those who prefer a softer, more natural demi-matte finish. Doesn't cake up and covers redness and blemishes considerably well. For more coverage that maintains the lightweight feel, try the Dusty Girls Mineral Foundation over the top.

The packaging is absolutely adorable with the pump bottle contained in the cutest recyclable cardboard slip box. Nourishing product for your skin and friendly packaging for the environment :)

It comes in two shades. Light and Medium. My shade is light and though the shade may initially look intimidating, never fear, it blends right into your own natural skin tone. The former for fairer skin and the latter for darker skin tones. Dusty Girls are more than happy to send you samples of each shade upon request so you can find the perfect match for your skin.

Having worn this in several different environments, I found myself impressed with its lasting power. It lasted 6 or 7 hours before I noticed it start to fade. It also stood up to a fairly sweaty gym workout! If you have excessively oily skin, set with powder for longer lasting results.

The product is contained within a 50ml bottle that dispenses just the right amount of product with one pump. Hygienic and conveniently sized to throw in your makeup bag.
