Review (plus SWATCHES!): Urban Decay NAKED SMOKY Palette

8 August 2015

The Smoky Palette has arrived. Next in line to Urban Decay's 3 NAKED palettes, this one embodies neutral satin shimmers, velvet mattes and sparkling glitters. It's time to get excited...

Put together inside a plastic palette with a stable, magnetic closure are an assortment of shades in a mix of finishes ready to create your perfect smoky eye. Its translucent packaging is laced with a seductive smoke design.

The palette carries 12 intensely pigmented shades alongside a full size mirror.

For creating a smoky eye, there's a dual ended brush with a fine pencil smudger on one end for precise blending or smudging and a fluffy dense blending brush for shading and smoking out on the other.

Walking you through the opening shades of the palette are reflective, shimmery neutrals.

Shimmer golden pink
Golden tan
Mid-tone brown
Taupe based glittery silver

In the midst of the palette are a blend of smoky satins/shimmers.

Gun metal with glittery flecks

Slate/gun metal

Satin black
Shimmery deep toasted brown with plum hues

Finalising the palette are velvety mattes.

Matte taupe with lavender hues
Matte warm milk chocolate brown
Matte pink toned beige
Matte white based Ivory

From the moment I saw this palette I couldn't wait to experiment with it. Smoky eye make up has practically been part of my identity for many years. I  adore smoky shades and this palette didn't disappoint me.

The brush is my ultimate favourite from the NAKED range. It's literally dual ended perfection.
