Vegan 'Perfection' : A Note About My Lifestyle

4 August 2016

Recently I have had to unfortunately make the decision to use make up and body products that might not be completely vegan. I do use cruelty free brands and always will. And I will always use vegan products when I am able to.

But after a long time spent giving myself severe anxiety and my health problems being aggravated as a result of my stresses (yes, my conditions are affected by stress), I finally have to come to a point where I need to just stop or this is not going to end well for me.

Finding completely vegan beauty products where I live is not easy, cheap (vegan shampoo for example is £10 or more. I'm not exaggerating and I simply can not afford that for a basic essential like shampoo that I need to buy very frequently) or even possible half the time. I have to travel an hour to find certain items and it's not cheap. I don't have local shops that sell completely vegan products. Even if I made my own it would be too expensive. Even if I ordered online or clicked and collected it's still too expensive. Please just try to understand that. I have also found that many of the completely vegan products I have tried have played havoc with my skin. (I suffer with dermatitis amongst other things)

And what if I told you I take medicine (that I absolutely will always need) that has animal ingredients in it? So I'll never truly be a 'pure vegan' anyway. I'm sure that's not good enough for some vegans but I can't be sorry for it when I never chose my health problems.

I can't do this anymore. I never set out to be a 'perfect vegan'. I don't believe in that. And if you'd like to know my extended thoughts on that concept, please go here

I came here to say that from here on you might see products (on my blog and youtube channel) that might not be completely vegan. Like I said, I'll always use cruelty free brands and buy products with no or as little animal products in them as possible. But sometimes you might see a product with beeswax for example. If that disappoints you or if you hate me for it, I'm sorry. I really am.

I'm still eating vegan. I won't give that up.

I have to live on this planet too and sometimes I have to think of myself and my own life as well as everything else I have to deal with. I wish everything were free from animal ingredients but unfortunately right now that's not the case.

I hope you can understand and at the very least just be respectful of my decision.

Thank you.
