Highlighting. Contouring. Buzz terms within the beauty community that have had many of us swiping, strobing and blending in a bid to achieve those cheekbones. But honestly, there's really no need to get too hung up on what's trending. It doesn't matter what's all over Instagram, if you like it then rock it.
That said, highlighting and contouring is a perfect starting point.
How does a fair skinned human navigate their way to chiseled cheek bones and glowing skin?
I can't do the sculpting for you but I can certainly introduce you to my very favourite highlighting and contouring products that give me (and my cheeks) life.
Make Up Revolution Ultra Strobe Balm in Euphoria. A creamy, buildable formula with a GORGEOUS pink tone running through it. Apply with fingers or a sponge for best results. You want mermaid vibes? You want ethereal highlight? It's all in this.
Topshop's Crescent Moon Highlighter has a flattering white gold tone which won't appear yellow on fairer skin. This is one of my ultimate favourite highlighters. Prepare to glow.
Seventeen's Define & Conquer Contour Kit. Matte without the flat, this is for those of you who prefer a softer, no-shine finish but still want definition. Plus the kit is so compact it can be thrown into your bag and taken with you on the go! Sweet.
Sleek's Face Kit in Light is the mother of highlighting and contouring kits. The matte finish contour powder has a soft, blendable formula. The light shimmery gold tones of the centre highlight will perk up your highlighting game. Finish off with the peachy gold blush for seriously sweet cheeks.
Make Up Revolution have done it with their Vivid Baked Bronzers. This one, in the shade Ready To Go, is a frequent favourite on my channel and for good reason! There's a hint of very subtle shimmer, just enough to give your face a glow without being sparkly or shiny. Pair with the Ultra Strobe Balms for extra strength face sculpting.
Do you play the contour or highlight game?
