Rimmel carries two face primers within its range. The Stay Matte and the Fix and Perfect Pro. Today's review looks at the Fix and Perfect.
The Fix and Perfect Primer retails for £6.99. I got mine for free when I purchased the Stay Matte foundation (which, if you know me, you know I'm a HUGE fan of!). This offer was running at Boots at the time but it is no longer running now. You can purchase this primer at Superdrug, Boots and any good supermarket.
Contained within a squeeze tube it offers more hygienic packaging that allows you more control over how much product you deposit. A generous 30ml of product means you get good value for your money.
The consistency of this product resembles that of a thick lotion. Juxtaposing this is its light and airy feel on the skin. It blends smoothly and easily over the skin with a brush or clean fingertips. Dries quickly to a non-greasy, brightened finish. Blurs 'imperfections' (re-surfacing action that minimises the appearance of pores) on the skin and leaving a soft feeling. Has a light scent that disappears or is very unnoticeable shortly after application.

Foundation blends almost seamlessly over this (no creasing, no stickiness, no uneven patches) and it pro-longs the longevity of base make up very effectively. You can of course wear this alone as a re-surfacing product but for optimum performance definitely combine it with base make up.
My skin is predominantly dry with minor oiliness and this primer did not accentuate any of my dryness or leave my skin looking or feeling greasy at all. I found that this helped my longest lasting foundation (the fantastic Stay Matte that I am forever raving about) last that much longer.
My skin looked brighter, my base make up applied more evenly, I noticed that it prevented my foundation sticking to particularly stubborn dryer areas of my face which was fantastic! And my base make up definitely lasted that much longer. Overall a wonderful primer for a great price!
❥ Keep an eye out for a review of the Stay Matte primer because I'll be posting that relatively soon!
