What's In My Make-Up Bag?

12 July 2017

Ah, make-up bags. I own too many of them. I don't know how it happened (yes I do)...

Today we're going to delve into mine and show you the make-up I currently carry with me when I'm out and about.

I chose this one from Debenhams a few years ago. Every time I pick it up the cute kitties make me smile. Not to mention it's made of a plastic-y type material on the inside and out so any make-up smudges, spills and smears are easily wiped away.

"Get to the juicy deets, Michelle. We want to know what's in your make-up bag!"

Alright, alright...

EYES

I'm all about the eye make-up so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that I carry two different eye bases with me.

The first is my Rimmel Magnif'eyes primer which I use to prevent creasing and to keep my eye make-up in place. I use the NYX white eyeshadow base over the top which acts as an adhesive base to bring the colour out of my shadows.
Likewise, I use different eyeliners in conjuction with each other. I layer my Essence long lasting pencil with my collection fast stroke liquid liner for maxium definition and impact on the lash lines. To hold everything in place I set with MUA 'Smoke', a matte black shadow.

The Make-Up Academy Tropical Oceana Palette has been a firm favourite for its amazing variety of shades and versatility.

I've been running GOSH Xtreme Mascara through my lashes to add volume and length.

The Sleek Eyebrow Stylist is a new product I purchased recently. So far, so good. It gives great depth and definition to my brows.

FACE

My current base make-up is the Kiko Milano Unlimited Foundation

I brighten my under eye area with the Smashbox Studio Skin concealer. The texture of this is great but sadly I don't feel it offers me as much coverage as I'd like on bad skin days.

I hold those in place with Rimmel's #Insta Fix & Matte powder and finish with the Fix & Go setting spray from the same line.

My Sleek Face Form kit has THE perfect trio of contour, highlight and blush so it's fantastic to save space.

If I'm choosing just contour for the day, I pick up my MAC medium/dark powder. MAC is not cruelty free, I know, and that sucks. I've owned this powder for quite some time so as soon as it's used up I won't repurchase unless they become cruelty-free.

LIPS

Depending on what kind of mood I'm in will depend on which lip colours I carry. At the moment, I switch between two products.

For lazy days I like New Look's matte lipstick in Orchid for its deep pink wearable formula.

For days when I'm feeling bold I've enjoyed Barry M's Matte Me Up lip paint in Paparazzi.
