The beautiful design on the outer packaging and the shades of the palette drew me in straight away.

Salvation Dia De Los Muertos translates as 'Day Of The Dead'. A reference to the holiday predominantly observed in Mexico. However, this holiday is also celebrated throughout the world by other cultures. It consists of gatherings (usually friends and family of the deceased) to commemorate those who have passed away. Traditions include building private altars for the deceased, honouring them with sugar skulls (and they are traditionally edible!)  and  marigolds, leaving gifts and favourite foods of the deceased alongside the deceased's possessions.)

The outer packaging features a 'Dia De Los Meurtos' inspired sugar skull design. I am a HUGE fan of skulls in general and this one blends striking colour with elegance.

(Please forgive the minor tear. My box tore a little when initially opening it)

Many of the colours contained within the palette also reflect traditional colours within the Dia De Los Meurtos holiday.

Dia De Los Meurtos colours are said to have different meanings.

Purple signifies grief, mourning and pain

Yellow is the colour of Cempazuchitl, or Marigold flower. Yellow signifies death.

Pink translates as celebratory

White is symbolic of hope and purity

There are of course other colours that have similar meanings such as orange, red and black but these do not feature in the palette itself.

Inside is a combination of bright and neutral colours alongside matte and shimmer finishes. The mix of shades enabling you to create any type of look with the palette. The iridescent qualities of the shimmer finish shadows are absolutely stunning.

The shadows are highly pigmented, smoothly textured and easily blendable. When applied with a good eye primer they are also incredibly long lasting.

I can not recommend this palette enough. Not only are the shadows beautiful but it is also fantastic value for money. Only £6 for 18 shadows!

Will you be buying this palette?

All opinions within this entry are my own. They are 100% honest. I was not paid or asked to do this review. I purchased the palette with my own money. All photos and images (except where otherwise stated) are made by myself. I drew the little pink skulls especially for this entry! :)
