After some past experiences with BB creams leaving me with a greasy complexion, I was a little hesitant to use one again. Even when I discovered that brands were releasing matte versions of their BB creams I was still a little skeptical.
It was the promise of full coverage combined with a good level spf, blemish prevention and mattifying properties that attracted me so much to this BB cream. In need of a reasonably priced base make up, I decided to put aside my hesitations and purchase this.
I suffer with Polycystic Ovaries so my skin can be problematic around that TOTM with my t-zone being my oiliest area. There is also a little redness in my cheeks. Generally I have combination skin.
I have always liked the idea of BB creams but not the greasy after finish that many of them seemed to come with.
This BB cream was a pleasant surprise. Not only did it give smooth medium to high coverage (it covered my redness and blemishes very nicely!) but its finish remained matte for the majority of the time. It also wears very well, with it only showing minor signs of wearing off after around 7 hours and it stood up to one of my sweaty gym sessions! It was also after the 7 hour point that I noticed minor oiliness peeking through. But this happens to me regardless of whether I wear make up or not.
The formula comes in four shades ranging from Very Light (my shade), Light, Medium and Medium/Dark so there is a fair amount of choice for most skin tones.
The 9 in 1 formula:
Minimises the appearance of pores, mattifies and controls shine
Smoothes/Soothes skin
Conceals dark circles
The texture is a combination of thick and liquidy. The tube packaging is more hygienic than other types and allows you more control over how much product you use.
As you can see in the photo above, the product seems to leak a little into the cap and creates a bit of a mess over the tube opening, which I found a little problematic as it meant needing to clean the tube before and after use.
The photos below show me wearing this product (with nothing else on my face) and were taken in natural daylight.
Have you tried this BB cream? Would you? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
