Styling Tartan With Freedom Make Up

23 September 2015

Tartan is a seasonal staple in my wardrobe. Its bold print blends beautifully with natural autumnal hues.

This pattern pairs well with single or duo toned items. Minimalistic tones and patterns will create more harmony. If you have bolder taste pair your tartan with vibrant colour or clashing monochrome prints.

One of my favourite ways to wear Tartan is to match the bold print with plain pieces like a classic white tee and then dot complimentary tones throughout the rest of my outfit.

I recently bought this tartan skirt from Primark and I'm absolutely in love with the elegance in its layered hi-low hem. It reminds me of how a traditional check shirt would fall around the waist when tied around it.

A plain white tee is the ultimate classic staple with its versatility. H+M's stretch fit white basic tee matches perfectly with my skirt.

I find casual comfort in a good old pair of canvas hi tops. I layered over the knee black socks over black tights for a little extra warmth.

I'm addicted to neutral tones lately and I've been completely loving some of these new products I got recently. I can't wait to review them in depth for you so be sure to tell me which you'd like me to review first!

The advantage of neutrals is they won't overwhelm an outfit and the ones in the Freedom Pro Decadence/Magic Palette will complement any pieces you put together.

I have been wanting to buy another Freedom eyeshadow palette for some time now and recently got a chance to pick one up. I honestly can't get over how unique the shades in these palettes are.

My lid shade is this shimmery, reflective, white based pink.

To contour my eyes I chose a matte chocolate brown and blended it out, shading the pigment throughout the outer crease area.

Collection Fast Stroke Liner  is one of my all time favourite liquid eyeliners. It stays put and is completely smudge proof. Great for any unpredictable autumnal wind and rain! Using the brown shade for a more earthy, natural tone, I created a thick wing, extending it very slightly outside of the lash line.

I set my eyeliner, filled my brows and lined my lower lash line with this deep chocolate brown (top row, 6th from right) from the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. This is such a fantastic multi purpose shade.

For fluttery length and volume I brushed through my lashes with Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara.

BB Cream is great for those who prefer lightweight feel base make up. For me, a matte finish and SPF protection are equally important. Rimmel's Matte BB Cream offers lightweight, buildable coverage with in-built sun protection. Remember, you need sun protection during ALL seasons! I set this with my favourite Stay Time Powder by Seventeen.

I gave my cheeks a delightful peachy flush with Milani's Rose Blush. Look how pretty this compact is!

For my lip shade I chose Tea Rose, a matte lip colour from the ELF studio line. The rose hues in this have a lot of depth, leaving your lips with beautiful yet muted definition.
