As we wave goodbye to October and welcome November (can someone please tell me where the last 10 months went because I swear it was January three seconds ago?), I'd like to reflect upon the month of autumnal spookiness and share my favourite highlights.
I got introduced to several new beauty products that I loved so much I shared them in my October Favourites post.
My streak of finding fantastic products didn't stop there. I picked up a few items from Make Up Revolution's brand new Halloween line. In my experience, a lot of SFX make-up tends to be a struggle to work with. It's often either too sheer, patchy (no matter how it is applied or what it is applied with) or extremely thick and greasy which inevitably leaves my skin badly broken out. And I admit I was apprehensive about this product but it ended up really impressing me. I needed a white base make-up for my Halloween costume and this did the trick. Was a real treat. Okay I'll stop with the Halloween puns (no I won't).
No streakiness, no greasy feeling and it's actually pigmented enough to give the ghostly complexion it promises. As long as they keep making this I'm going to keep using it.

I was a super lucky girl to be able to attend Make Up Revolution's 2017 Halloween Party. (Now you know why I needed that Halloween make up!) I dressed up as a demon queen with a 'ripped face' make-up look, ate delicious spooky cookies and had a bit too much wine. It was a wonderful night with SO many gorgeous Halloween costumes! I'm extremely grateful to Make Up Revolution for inviting me.
When you've had a late night and too many glasses of wine. #Same
The decorations at the party were just STUNNING. I absolutely LOVED the coffin 'table' between the sofas! The whole aesthetic of the party matched mine, tbh.
This tulle skirt was such a dream. It's a contrast black and teal put together with a black ribbon waist belt. Felt like such a gothic princess!
Whilst in London I discovered THE cutest cafe ever. My eyes caught sight of the cafe's exterior structure and I HAD to go in. I mean look at it.
The interior deco didn't disappoint. They decorated the cafe in this cute pastel gothic style specifically for Halloween. Which is kind of a shame because it's SO adorable. I mean, little bats hanging from the ceiling! Little bats!!! 🦇🦇🦇🦇
The range of cakes in this place was mind blowing. I chose the Pumpkin Spice cupcake because my excited girl goth self couldn't resist the little skull on the top.
It was SO delicious I nearly died. The headlines would have read 'Basic White Goth Girl dies of Pumpkin Spice Overdose'. Or at least I hope they would have.
But seriously, though it was an expensive cafe it was SO worth it.
It's practically my life tradition to make baked goodies this time of year. Does anyone else do this?
I made deliciously horrifying Halloween cupcakes which went down a...wait for it...treat...with all I shared them with.
I used a basic vanilla cupcake recipe and vanilla-orange frosting with various decorations (fondant eyeballs, skull, ghost, pumpkin, crossbones, spider and teeth) I made myself.
Did you celebrate Halloween? What are your Halloween traditions? Comment and let me know!
