Review: Make Up Revolution Conceal And Define (C1)

15 January 2018

Concealer. I love that it brings my look together, brightens everything up and covers up a multitude of my skin issues. But (even when used with primer, setting powder and fixing spray), I don't love the way so many I've used have dried out my skin underneath my eyes, creating extra fine lines. As if being 800 years old isn't enough, I was subjected to looking like I'd aged 100 years. #notreadyforninehundred

Then I heard about a concealer that promised full coverage without settling into pores and fine lines. And it was only £4.

Make Up Revolution's Conceal And Define range boasts 18 'skin true' multi-purpose shades that can be used to highlight, contour or conceal. (Choose your shade based on the purpose you want the product for.) I picked out C1 for my fair skin with neutral undertones to use as a concealer to brighten my under eye/upper cheek area and even out my complexion.

The formula is thick yet very creamy, blends well and sets to a matte finish which doesn't dry out the under eye area or sink into lines. The wand is enormous making it easier to get a good amount of product on your face which I loved. I don't think I ever want to go back to teeny tiny doe-foot wands after using this! It didn't drag my skin either despite its size. (That's what she said.)

The coverage is where it went downhill for me. It's not as full as promised. I want extreme full coverage from my base products and I felt as though I could still see my own undertones peeking through so this was slightly disappointing. Saying that, it still did a pretty decent job.

The lasting power and the wearability kinda blew me away. I just wish it had slightly more coverage as that would have made it a 10/10 for me. But outside of that, this is a pretty great concealer for its price tag.

Have you tried this concealer? What are your thoughts on it?
