ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit Review

16 December 2014

Disclaimer: I am not being paid to write this review. Nor did anybody ask me to write it. I bought the featured product with my own money.

Elf's studio range is nothing short of fantastic. I have loved the range for a long time now because its excellent quality and pricing really hold up.

I'd been eyeing up the studio brow kits for some time but had other brow products I wanted to use before I purchased a new one.

When the time came to replace my brow products I decided on the shade 'dark' from the range of four shades available. Light, Medium, Dark and Ash.

Go here to shop! ELF Eyebrow Kit

I am fair skinned with some warmth to my complexion. I also prefer a darker brow. And thankfully my chosen shade was dark enough. I often find that brow products for fair skin contain too much warmth or aren't dark enough so I generally buy the darkest brown shade I can find. This one is perfect for me.

The kits contain 3.7g of pigmented wax and powder alongside a double ended taklon brush. The in-built mirror also makes this kit awesome for use on the go. Awesome value for just £3.95.

Swatches - ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit in Dark

For as long as I have been tweezing my eyebrows I have had great difficulty getting them to look exactly the way I wanted them to. When I was younger I made the mistake of over plucking which meant it took quite some time for me to grow my eyebrows back after so many years abusing them! I'm still in the process of doing this and I have some naturally sparse areas in my brows so I definitely like them a bit more filled in and shapely.

I'd used multiple types of brow products prior to the Elf eyebrow kit. Pencils, waxes, powders and brow mascaras. Many of the products were good but they never offered me a brow that I felt was shapely enough no matter how I applied them. The pencils, brow mascaras and waxes just didn't hold my brows in place the way I wanted.

I am seriously in love with this kit.

The wax not only shades my brows wonderfully (and the pigmentation is buildable so you can get a more sheer or full amount of coverage!) but it holds them in place brilliantly! They remain in place all day long as well as helping me get the arch shaped brows I've always wanted. I've been outside in all weathers wearing this on my eyebrows and they didn't budge. The powder is smooth, blendable and sets the wax beautifully. It fills in as it sets giving you natural, shapely brows. This is honestly my absolute favourite brow product and I refuse to buy any other.

Have you tried this kit? Let me know your thoughts!

ELF Little Black BeautyBook Review (Cool Edition)

11 July 2014

ELF'S line of Little Black Beauty Books first caught my eye when I was browsing their Facebook page. I made a point to take a look at the palettes the next time I visited my nearest ELF cosmetics store where I made my purchase.

The Little Black Beauty Books come in two editions. Warm and Cool.

I am exceptionally attracted to colourful eye make up so I picked up the Cool Edition palette, an array of rainbow shades within one convenient palette.

If neutrals are more to your taste then the Warm palette is definitely worth a look.

Both palettes consist of 48 shades all combined into one lightweight, slimline palette book for just £8. Great value for money!

A combination of pearl, shimmer and matte finishes complete this palette.  Its depth of shades means you can alternate between bright flashes of colour or a sultry smoky eyes.

The palettes come with a a small travel-friendly sponge tip applicator though the shadows apply beautifully with make up brushes too. The shadows are heavily pigmented and all of them blend smoothly and easily over the lids.

Apply an eye primer underneath the eye shadows for an extra long lasting and more vibrant finish.

Swatches below begin top to bottom for each row and proceed from left to right.

The palettes' lightweight feel and compact shape combined with the array of different shades make them especially perfect for travel.  Any colour, any time, any place. So awesome!

And that was precisely the very first purpose I used mine for. On my recent trip to London IMATS I packed this palette into my make up bag. Any look I wanted to create was available to me and the best part was I didn't have to carry pot after pot of single eye shadows or multiple heavy palettes! The palette fits perfectly into your make up bag and won't weigh you down when you take it travelling with you. The outer casing also protects the shadows well during travel. My palette stayed closed and intact inside my case throughout my journey.

A fantastic option for those on a budget, those who travel or those who simply love a great value eye shadow palette with a variety of choice.

ELF Studio Cream Blushes Review

26 April 2014

ELF Studio Cream Blushes

£6.50 from ELF stores and ELF online

These blushes come in 6 beautiful shades. Tease, Flirt, Heartbreaker, Temptress, Seductress and Vixen.

I own Flirt and Tease.

Tease carries rich peach tones whilst Flirt is a vibrant rose pink.

From ELF's studio line comes these beautiful cream blushes. In a range of colours the formula consists of a beautifully soft and smooth cream that translates into a matte, velvety powder on the skin.

Flirt (Left) and Tease (Right)

Non-greasy and richly pigmented. These are buildable and blend effortlessly with a brush or fingers.

These blushes offer a seamless flush of colour that lasts all day.

They carry no overwhelming scent. Encased in a beautiful cube glass jar, the packaging is sturdy, smart and sophisticated.

Ensure that the click cap and lid are applied securely after use to avoid drying the product out. The lid applies simply with a twist and a click.

I adore these blushes. I personally enjoy applying them with either my fingers or my ELF small stippling brush. The densely packed soft bristles allow the brush to pick up the colour with ease and apply it precisely to the face allowing you to blend the colour into the skin accurately and easily. When applying with fingers use a patting motion and blend gently to avoid removing the colour.

Wonderful product. I adore these and definitely intend to buy more shades! Keep an eye out on my blog for those!
