VE Day 2020 | #FOTD | Cruelty-Free Drugstore Pastel Gothic Make Up Look
10 May 2020
If you've visited my Instagram recently you'll know I did this makeup look for VE Day during lockdown.
Let's run through the products I used to create it.
** Please note, I didn't include the eyeliner I am wearing because it's discontinued and I have run out of it now. I'm getting a new one and this will be included in upcoming posts! My lashes are from Kiss and again aren't available anymore so have left those out too. Keep an eye out for future posts though because I've discovered some wonderful new lashes!**

ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit Review
16 December 2014
Disclaimer: I am not being paid to write this review. Nor did anybody ask me to write it. I bought the featured product with my own money.
Elf's studio range is nothing short of fantastic. I have loved the range for a long time now because its excellent quality and pricing really hold up.
I'd been eyeing up the studio brow kits for some time but had other brow products I wanted to use before I purchased a new one.
When the time came to replace my brow products I decided on the shade 'dark' from the range of four shades available. Light, Medium, Dark and Ash.
Go here to shop! ELF Eyebrow Kit
I am fair skinned with some warmth to my complexion. I also prefer a darker brow. And thankfully my chosen shade was dark enough. I often find that brow products for fair skin contain too much warmth or aren't dark enough so I generally buy the darkest brown shade I can find. This one is perfect for me.
The kits contain 3.7g of pigmented wax and powder alongside a double ended taklon brush. The in-built mirror also makes this kit awesome for use on the go. Awesome value for just £3.95.
For as long as I have been tweezing my eyebrows I have had great difficulty getting them to look exactly the way I wanted them to. When I was younger I made the mistake of over plucking which meant it took quite some time for me to grow my eyebrows back after so many years abusing them! I'm still in the process of doing this and I have some naturally sparse areas in my brows so I definitely like them a bit more filled in and shapely.
I'd used multiple types of brow products prior to the Elf eyebrow kit. Pencils, waxes, powders and brow mascaras. Many of the products were good but they never offered me a brow that I felt was shapely enough no matter how I applied them. The pencils, brow mascaras and waxes just didn't hold my brows in place the way I wanted.
I am seriously in love with this kit.
The wax not only shades my brows wonderfully (and the pigmentation is buildable so you can get a more sheer or full amount of coverage!) but it holds them in place brilliantly! They remain in place all day long as well as helping me get the arch shaped brows I've always wanted. I've been outside in all weathers wearing this on my eyebrows and they didn't budge. The powder is smooth, blendable and sets the wax beautifully. It fills in as it sets giving you natural, shapely brows. This is honestly my absolute favourite brow product and I refuse to buy any other.
Have you tried this kit? Let me know your thoughts!

❤ FOTD (Face Of The Day) Featuring ELF, MAC and a brand NEW Lime Crime product! ❤
7 September 2014
Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. I have unfortunately been unwell the past couple of days, hence the delay in new blog posts, which I do wholeheartedly apologise for.
Today's make up is a smoked olive green eye against duo toned peach-pink contour.
I always begin with an eye primer. This prolongs the wear of my eye make up, prevents smudging, creasing and any other eye make up disasters that'd destroy my soul. This one is from Make Up Revolution and you can check out my review of it here http://vegan-cupcake.blogspot.com/2014/07/make-up-revolution-stay-dont-stray-eye.html
A cream base will act as an adhesive for your eyeshadow. This makes the colour even more vibrant. I blended one of my alll time favourite cream bases, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, over my lids.
Today's lid colour is MAC's Sumptuous Olive. This is such a beautiful shade and swiftly became one of my favourites from the moment I laid eyes on it. An olive green with an iridescent gold shimmer running through it. Perfect to create a smokey green eye.
To contour the eyes I shaded the outer crease and lower lash line with a dark olive shade from the ELF Cool Edition Little Black Beauty Book. Check out my review of this palette with swatches http://vegan-cupcake.blogspot.com/2014/07/elf-little-black-beautybook-review-cool.html
I gave my lashes volume, length and definition with my Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara.
My base make up was Revlon's Mineral Mousse foundation. Sadly I have now run out of this foundation and I believe Revlon no longer sell this! So I'll be on the hunt for a replacement. Keep an eye out on future entries to see what I choose next! But all the same this is a great foundation. It offers sun protection with a matte finish. I'm sad to see it go!
To set my base make up I applied MAC's loose powder with a large face brush for a natural, matte finish.
Next I contoured my face by adding a flush of colour to the cheek bones with the GORGEOUS Elf Studio Cream Blush in Heartbreaker before applying the Blush side of the Blush and Bronzer duo in ST Lucia over the top. Applying a powder blush over a cream blush intensifies the colour and makes for longer lasting blush. Just apply a small amount of cream blush to avoid overdoing it. Unless you're like me and you love strong blush ;) In this instance I used these two colours in combination with each other to create a duo toned pink-peach blush that complemented my lip colour.
You can see swatches of the ELF Studio Cream blushes here: http://vegan-cupcake.blogspot.com/2014/04/elf-studio-cream-blushes-review.html
To complete the look I used my new lipstick from Lime Crime in Great Pink Planet.
The completed look!

ELF Little Black BeautyBook Review (Cool Edition)
11 July 2014
ELF'S line of Little Black Beauty Books first caught my eye when I was browsing their Facebook page. I made a point to take a look at the palettes the next time I visited my nearest ELF cosmetics store where I made my purchase.
The Little Black Beauty Books come in two editions. Warm and Cool.
I am exceptionally attracted to colourful eye make up so I picked up the Cool Edition palette, an array of rainbow shades within one convenient palette.
If neutrals are more to your taste then the Warm palette is definitely worth a look.
Both palettes consist of 48 shades all combined into one lightweight, slimline palette book for just £8. Great value for money!
The palettes come with a a small travel-friendly sponge tip applicator though the shadows apply beautifully with make up brushes too. The shadows are heavily pigmented and all of them blend smoothly and easily over the lids.
Apply an eye primer underneath the eye shadows for an extra long lasting and more vibrant finish.
Swatches below begin top to bottom for each row and proceed from left to right.
The palettes' lightweight feel and compact shape combined with the array of different shades make them especially perfect for travel. Any colour, any time, any place. So awesome!
And that was precisely the very first purpose I used mine for. On my recent trip to London IMATS I packed this palette into my make up bag. Any look I wanted to create was available to me and the best part was I didn't have to carry pot after pot of single eye shadows or multiple heavy palettes! The palette fits perfectly into your make up bag and won't weigh you down when you take it travelling with you. The outer casing also protects the shadows well during travel. My palette stayed closed and intact inside my case throughout my journey.
A fantastic option for those on a budget, those who travel or those who simply love a great value eye shadow palette with a variety of choice.

5 May 2014
Hi everyone!
It was a fairly nice spring day today so I decided to go with some vibrant green and pink on my eyes to match my new insanely bright pink jeans that I recently bought! Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do an OOTD photo but you can see those jeans in my recent haul video here:
For my eye make up I began with an eye primer. Eye primer is my number one essential in my make up bag. It improves application and keeps your eye make up in place for so much longer.
To enhance the vibrancy of my eye shadow I applied a creme base. Creme eye shadow provides an adhesive surface for eye shadow to stick to. I used my favourite base colour by GOSH.
My lid colour today was Freak from the Urban Decay Electric Palette. I also underlined my lower lash line with this shade. I contoured my eyes with a hybrid of Savage and Magenta Madness from the Sleek Monaco Palette.

My base make up was my absolute holy grail favourite foundation. Rimmel Stay Matte in the shade Ivory.
To brighten my under eye area I applied this AWESOME concealer by Seventeen.
I set my base make up with my favourite pressed powder.
To contour and add a flush of colour to my face I used the blush and bronzer from my ELF Studio contouring duo in St Lucia. Today was also my first time using this duo. So far, so good!
To complete my make up I decided upon a nude lip to complement the colourful eye make up. ELF's Mineral lipstick in Natural Nymph was the PERFECT nude shade for today!
The completed look!
