make up of the day
FOTD (Featuring Make Up Revolution and more!)
26 June 2015
Sometimes a smouldering, smoked out eye make up is all I need.
I began with Make Up Revolution Eye Primer to lock in my eye shadow and prevent smudging, creasing and fading.
All of the shadows I used today are from the I ♡ Makeup I Heart Passion palette. This palette has a mixture of highly pigmented, neutral, matte and shimmer shades.

I defined my eyes with Model Co's black eyeliner pencil, then intensified this with Maybelline's Master Graphic liner. This liner has an angled tip which makes drawing thicker or thinner lines much easier. I set the liner with Guess The Rest from the palette.
I defined my eye lashes with Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara. The wand has multiple smaller bristles to catch every lash, giving length and definition. And how cute is the floral packaging?!
I used clean fingers to blend Urban Decay's 24/7 Concealer Pencil in CIA to brighten my under eye area.
For a matte, full, matte coverage and weightless finish I used L'Oreal's Infallible Matte Foundation.
To add definition to my face I used two contour shades from the Make Up Revolution Sugar and Spice Blush Palette
I added my favourite lilac lipstick by Lime Crime in the shade D'Lilac to the lips for an alternative look.
The completed look!
Have you tried any of Make Up Revolution's I Heart Palettes? And what's your favourite shade from this palette? Let me know in the comments!
FOTD (Feat. Urban Decay Electric Palette, MAC + Lime Crime!)
20 June 2015
Candy shades are an iconic part of the warmer seasons for me.
Today's #FOTD embraces those shades.
I started with an eye primer (make up revolution) and adhesive base (nyx jumbo pencil in milk). Both are important for creating brighter looks. A primer will lock your shadow in place to prevent creasing and smudging whilst the pigment clings to the adhesive base, making it more vibrant. Find out more here: Eye Primer
I shaded the lid with Freak from the Urban Decay Electric Palette.
I created a soft base contour colour with Inglot's Freedom System Matte shadow in #346
Then further defined the eyes with Jilted from the Urban Decay Electric Palette
I lined the upper lids with Collection's Fast Stroke eyeliner in Black.
I used the Make Up Academy's Eyeliner Pencil in Royal Blue along the lower lash line combined with Gonzo from the Urban Decay Electric Palette to set the liner in place and create a duo toned effect.
Once the eye make up was in place I defined my lashes using Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara. This gives fluttery, volumised lashes in an instant with a wand that catches the outer lashes perfectly to create a wide eyed effect.
Brows frame the face and sometimes wearing lots of colour on the eyes can make the brows less visible. So to define my brows I used Elf's Eyebrow Kit in Dark
Warmer weather sometimes causes the skin to become overly shiny. Not fun! So I mattified my complexion using Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation and set that with Seventeen's Stay Time Pressed Powder to keep shine at bay.
Brighter weather can sometimes wash out the definition in your face so add it back by contouring your cheeks with either blush or bronzer. I chose Topshop's Bronzer in Sandcastle which suits my fair complexion well.
Candy Lips achieved with a base of Lime Crime D'Lilac with MAC's Pink Nouveau over the top.
And this is the completed look! I hope you enjoyed this FOTD! Let me know what make up you wore today :)
Face Of The Day (Featuring BRAND NEW make up!)
7 June 2015
The warmer season this year has found me drawn to soft peach, copper/bronze and pink shades.
Today's make up is a blend of gentle pink with a softly blended fuchsia.
I started with my make up revolution eye primer. You can see swatches of this and a full review here: Make Up Revolution Stay Don't Stray Primer and followed this up by blending NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk over the lids as an adhesive base.
Primer is so important because it locks in the eye make up and stops it from creasing, smudging and fading. Definitely a step you want to consider including in your make up application routine!
My lid colour is from one of MAC's limited edition releases. This is the Give Me Liberty Of London eyeshadow, a matte, muted, pink-peach hybrid. I contoured the crease and lower lash line of the eyes with Urban Decay's Fishnet from my custom palette (see more here Urban Decay + Smashbox Palettes Review With Swatches), which I thoroughly blended out for a softer finish.
I lined the eyes with my ultimate favourite liquid liner by Collection called Fast Stroke. Seriously, this stuff is amazing. I have used it for years now and it's never failed me.
My mascara is a new purchase I made recently. It's the latest Bourjois mascara called Volume 1 Seconde. Of course I was rather excited about its retro vintage floral packaging! A full review of this mascara is coming soon!
My base make up is MAC's Match Master foundation (review and swatches here: MAC Match Master SPF 15), set with Seventeen Stay Time powder.
I gave my brows definition and shape with the Maybelline Brow Satin pen. Let me know if you want a review of this!
My blush is Good Girl by Topshop. This is a very sugary, sweet, matte pink blush. It brightens the skin with a natural flush of colour.
Completed the look with Lime Crime Lipstick in D'Lilac. I am ADDICTED to purple lipstick, especially pastel lilac shades like this one!
Hope you enjoyed today's FOTD! What shades are you addicted to lately? Let me know!
