Festive Face : #Blogmas Day 7
7 December 2017
It doesn't have to be Autumn/Winter for me to enjoy a warm make up look with red lipstick but there's still something so fun about wearing this style during those seasons anyway.
I wanted today's face to be a more casual (casual for me, okay?) take on festive make up...
Face Of The Day - Pretty Princess Look
7 November 2015
I recently purchased this beautiful palette from Make Up Revolution. Since then I've been experimenting like crazy with different looks and I think this one is definitely one of my favourites so far.
My current new obsession is with pretty, feminine shades.
I began with an eye primer (I have finally run out of my Make Up Revolution eye primer so I used a discontinued Smash Box one from an old gift set which is why it's not featured here as it isn't available anymore).
This is an absolute must for me because it locks my eye make up into place all day long.
My lid shade was Pretty. An eye-catching iridescent pink. Princess, with a matte purple finish, made the perfect crease contour shade.
I always use a lash line shade to add extra depth my eyes. I have big eyes and they tend to look less balanced with lighter shades alone. Combining Urchin and Waves created an iridescent blue toned purple that complimented the mixed tones of Pretty on the lids.
After applying mascara (Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde) and my favourite Collection Fast Stroke liquid eyeliner, I was ready for base make up.
Many people ask why I choose to apply eye make up first and base make up second. Simple. If I get fall out or unruly smudging and need to clean up any eye make up, it saves wiping away my foundation/concealer and then having to re-apply. Applying powder underneath the eyes to 'catch' eye make up never appealed to me since I have allergies - which would be aggravated by piling powder under my eyes - and also the powder just drags the eye colour all over your face rather than removing it so to me, that's not a way of tidying up that I'd ever choose.
One of my favourite foundations is Seventeen's Stay Time. It's extremely high coverage and lasts all day long on my semi-oily skin even without a primer underneath.
Make Up Revolution's Lip Geek lipstick in Baby Doll added a gentle feminine hue to the lips and completed my look.
What shades are you into right now?
FOTD (Face Of The Day): Autumnal Make Up
11 September 2015
Today felt like a true Autumn day. Beautiful sunshine and a mild, cool breeze in the air. I went out briefly today so the tone of my make up today is quite casual. I paired a smokey brown eye with defined but muted lips.

Make Up Revolution Eye Primer has been a staple in my cosmetic bag for so long now. This one single tube has lasted me a very long time and the performance of this product has never faltered. Eye primer locks in your eye make up, giving it great staying power in all weathers so it's well worth the investment (this one is actually very affordable!).
The Urban Decay NAKED SMOKY Palette is a must-have for its beautiful range of neutral smoky tones in multiple finishes.

For a casual, neutral lid colour, I chose Combust. A velvety soft light toned matte brown.

I blended a warm bronze shade (Radar) combined with a matte dark brown (Whiskey) into the crease. I started with Radar, using this to build warmth and then applied Whiskey to the outer edge for deep definition. I used Whiskey along the lower lash line and as a brow framing shade to complete the look.
One of my all time favourite eyeliners are the Collection Fast Stroke liquid liners. Perfect for creating thick or thin wings along the eyes. Thicker wings suit my bigger eyes and are more my style so I chose a thicker style wing for this look.
This Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara finished off the look with its lengthening and volumising properties. I will miss this tube once it's finished (this was a limited edition release) but I can't wait to try more Bourjois mascaras!

Now the seasons are changing, I'm reaching for a more long lasting, higher coverage base make up. I first applied some SPF 15 moisturiser to protect my skin since this base is SPF free.
Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation is a smooth, full coverage, matte finish foundation that lasts all day. I blended this over my skin with my fingers.
To set my base make up into place I dusted a light layer of Seventeen's Stay Time Powder over my whole face.

To give my cheeks a rosey hue I chose this beautiful vibrant pink blush in Obsessed from the Afterglow line by Urban Decay.

I finished the look off with Faux lipstick by MAC. A muted mauve that gives definition but maintains a subtle, nude lip.
What are your favourite shades to wear in Autumn? Let me know in the comments!
