Think Thin Protein Bars: A Review
18 February 2015
I'm always snacking. I hate going more than a few hours without a snack. And I'm always looking for healthy, tasty snacks that fill me.
It is difficult to go anywhere to eat nowadays and buy snacks that aren't overly full of 'junk' ingredients that leave you still feeling hungry. I'm always finding myself frustrated at the lack of filling options available. And it becomes even more frustrating when you're out, hungry and need something to keep you going until you get home.
I'm personally not able to continuously eat fruit all day because I have IBS and I find too much fruit aggravates that. And let's face it, not everybody wants to be grabbing an apple every single time they are hungry in a day. Fruit is yummy, but sometimes you just want other options.
This is why I'm excited to share my recent new snack find with you.
Think Thin bars are so delicious and the best part is they are sugar-free and SO FILLING! Thanks to the fact they are packed full with protein and fiber. Usually just half a bar leaves me feeling happy and full which means my bars tend to last me a few days. Their texture varies depending on which flavour you choose but generally they're a little crunchy and soft at the same time.
They are full of protein and fibre, making them ideal for snacking, as a quick fill after a workout or just for their damn yumminess.
And I have to throw this in there. I have a health condition called Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (click the teal ribbon icon on my sidebar for more information on what this is). PMDD is not PMS but often it's described as a more severe form of PMS. I find that my hunger pangs become extremely intense to the point I am constantly looking for something to fill me. Well I have to say, these bars are a dream for me around this time. I have yet to find another snack that has made me feel as full as these do, particularly when my condition is flaring up. So if you're a fellow PMDD sufferer and you go crazy with hunger too, you might want to give these a try.
The best part is these bars come in all different flavours. My favourites are White Chocolate Cinnamon, Cookies and Creme, Salted Caramel and Brownie Crunch. Yes. They are as yummy as they sound!
If you're interested, I am lactose intolerant, but I don't find these bars aggravate that at all.
So if you're looking for a yummy snack, definitely give these a try! They also make oatmeal in a variety of flavours which I'm hoping to try some time!
