Review: Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray

My skin still thinks I'm a teenager. The breakouts, the oiliness and I'm #blessed with dry patches. Therefore, setting spray is necessary if I want my make up to stay on longer than a few hours. Setting sprays are the grand finale of make up application. They fix make up into place to prevent it from fading, moving around or wearing away.

Until now, I've been using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I love that setting spray, it's wonderful. But I wanted something less expensive for every day use. If I use a product regularly I don't really appreciate having to spend so much, so often, ya know?

I'd been looking around for some time for something decently priced and it was recently I discovered Rimmel's new #Insta range. Boots were having a 3 for 2 deal on all cosmetics so I went ahead and picked up the #Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray along with my other items. At only £6.99 it was a damn good deal.

This has a light, pleasant cucumber scent and feels cool and refreshing on the skin. It states that it can also be used as a primer so it's a 2 in 1 deal.

However, I did not like this as a primer and much preferred it as a setting spray. As a primer it felt sticky underneath my make up and made my foundation awkward to blend out (even after allowing it good time to dry). That was disappointing as it would have been great to have a 2 in 1 product as I use primer just as often as setting spray.

Surprisingly, it doesn't feel sticky at all when used to set make up. In fact, it did a good job as a setting spray.

It dries very quickly and is oil-free so thankfully there was no greasy aftermath. It kept my make up on for the majority of the day through all kinds of activities including my most intense workout at the gym. Normally my blush dissolves into space after I workout but this kept everything in place.

I'm impressed with this, especially considering it is fairly cheap. Definitely a good find!
