Base Make Up
Review: Barry M All Night Long Full Coverage Concealer (Milk)
2 April 2018

It's Barry M's latest concealer. Offering full, long lasting coverage but does it live up to these promises?
Review: Essence I ❤ Colour Intensifying Primer
15 August 2016
Eye Primer locks your eye shadows and liners into place leaving them more resistant to smudging, creasing and fading. It creates an even base to apply eye make up on top of. So essential to me that if I didn't have it I'd avoid wearing eye make up altogether.
And the good news is you don't have to spend a ton to find a great one anymore. There's one for every budget imaginable.
I explored some of the drugstore options out there and Essence's Colour Intensifying Primer kept catching my eye. I kept talking myself out of buying this because I thought its cheap price tag would mean it wouldn't perform very well.
L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Review
19 June 2014
Since I discovered it I have favoured my Rimmel Stay Matte
Foundation strongly. That foundation is wonderful and I'll repurchase it for as
long as Rimmel continue to make it. However at the same time I do like to
change up the types of products I use. I love using new products and
discovering how they work for me. If
you'd like to see my previous review of this foundation you can do so here: Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Review.
Since the weather got hotter I decided I would like to
choose a new foundation to fit my skin's needs during the warmer season.
Tinted moisturisers, BB and CC creams are fantastic options
for Summer make up but they do not always work well for me. I find many tinted
moisturisers to be too greasy for my skin and BB/CC creams just don't often provide
very suitable coverage for my skin nowadays.
My skin type has changed slightly over time. Currently it's mostly dry
with minor oiliness. I have some natural redness in my cheeks and around my
nose that I like to keep covered or evened out.
I desired to find a lightweight foundation with good
coverage. After looking around a number of drugstore brands I remembered that
L'Oreal had recently re-designed their long standing Infallible foundation. I
am not sure if they have updated the formula (as I obviously don't have the
older version to compare) but this is of course a possibility.
I have used this foundation in the past and I remembered
that all those years ago I absolutely loved it. I took a leap of faith and decided to
re-purchase it again after all this time.

L'Oreal's Infallible Foundation range carries 8 shades in
total. The foundation promotes a long lasting, hydrating, non-transferable, 'imperfection-less' finish.
I purchased Porcelain,
a fair vanilla-rose toned shade and the lightest shade available in the
range.
Swatches are taken in natural daylight with no filter.
Its smooth, non-greasy liquid formula blends with ease over
the skin, translating into a matte lightweight finish. I was barely able to
feel it on my skin. Best blended with a make up brush and especially effective
when applies with clean fingers. Offers a base medium coverage that's buildable
to full. Covered the natural redness and angry-red blemishes on my skin very
well. I found it covered the slight darkness under my eyes very well too. It
has an extremely light refreshing non-lingering scent. (I personally believe it
resembles an extremely mild moisturiser type of scent) The formula does not contain spf so it is highly advisable to wear additional spf underneath the foundation.

The formula carries Hydrating Hyaluron Complex or Hyaluron
Acid. Its function within the body is to bind water and help lubricate joints.
It increases elasticity in the skin and also has healing properties. Overall a very
effective hydrating ingredient that is frequently included in skincare products
for its moisturising properties.
Functions well with the use of face powder. The finish remains smooth and non-cakey.
Doesn't sink into lines or crease up. Considerably long lasting. I have worn
this foundation for a maximum of 10 hours and found that most of the make up remained
on my skin. I wouldn't personally say that this lasts 24 Hours and I would not recommend wearing make up for that amount of time either! However this is certainly a very long lasting foundation. It remained feeling fresh and light. Powder touch ups were not
needed though if you have problematic or oilier skin you may find you need to
use a little powder as a touch up.
I have fair skin with some warm undertones and found this particular shade very suitable. It blended almost seamlessly into my skin. It is generally best to swatch the tester shades in store to find a shade you find suitable.

The following photos demonstrate at least 7 hours of wear. In the second photo I have shown a considerably red blemish (on the cheek bone area) covered with the foundation alone to demonstrate how well this foundation covers 'imperfections'. Photos are taken in natural daylight with NO FILTERS.
Overall a fantastic foundation for the Summer. Feels great even through high temperatures, stays put and left a soft finish to my skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation Review
4 January 2014
Product
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation
Price?
Approximately £5.99 in Boots and Superdrug. The price will vary depending on where you purchase this.
Where Can I Purchase This?
Larger Boots and Superdrug stores as well as most supermarkets.
Shades?
This product comes in 5 shades: Light Porcelain, Ivory, Soft Beige, Sand and Natural Beige.
I originally purchased this is in Ivory and then later in Light Porcelain.
I have fair skin with slightly warm undertones and I found that Ivory, though one shade darker than what I'd normally choose (I generally prefer the more lighter coloured foundations. That is just my personal preference.), still worked for my skin tone.
I alternate between the two shades. Depending on how much coverage I need that day (due to my natural redness showing or a breakout) depends on which I wear. Ivory is generally better for me for covering redness since it's one shade darker than Light Porcelain. It looks quite dark in the photo but it does blend out very nicely over fair skin.
Swatches
Scent?
No noticeable scent
Packaging?
A wonderfully sized (30ml) tube. Complete value for money. I LOVE tube packaging. It reduces waste, makes depositing product so much easier (allows much more control when extracting the product from the container). Tube packaging is also far more hygienic. I love it.
Functionality
❄ Formula ❄
The formula of this foundation is a fairly thick, smooth textured liquid mousse. It is essentially like a cross between liquid and mousse foundation.
❄ Coverage ❄
Great coverage. You can build from a medium to full coverage. I have natural redness in my face and I suffer with break outs related to 'that time of the month' so I do appreciate a foundation that can conceal those problem areas on my skin. This does a wonderful job.
❄ Application ❄
I found the best way to apply this foundation was actually with a beauty blender sponge. It also works well with a foundation brush. However if you use a foundation brush be sure to apply the product sparingly (little by little) or it can bunch up as the formula itself is quite thick. With a beauty blender sponge it looks absolutely FLAWLESS. Overall it applies evenly and easily.
❄ Finish ❄
This product does not disappoint. The finish is completely matte! And again, as it promises, no caking! Doesn't slide, doesn't crease up.
HOWEVER, if you have any obvious or severe dry, flaky patches on your skin I would recommend exfoliating before using this foundation because it will (like ANY other foundation) cling to dry flakes of skin otherwise.
❄ Lasting Power ❄
WONDERFUL. I first must point out that my skin type is dry with minor oiliness depending on what time of the month it is. For someone with an oilier complexion I would recommend setting this foundation with powder but see no reason why it shouldn't wear for a long time.
I have worn this in different situations from just being at home to going to dinner and out shopping in all weathers.
From the moment I applied it a huge portion of it stayed put until I was ready to remove it. I would say around 80% of it remained on my face after a day shopping in heavy rain so it wears well under bad weather conditions. Absolutely fantastic lasting power!
